Print bleed in brochure printing?
What is a print bleed and why is it needed in brochure printing?A print bleed is the process of making your final brochure look its best. When brochures are sent out to printing services, they are printed together in a bunch and then cut up into individual pieces. A blade is used to achieve this to assure a uniform size. However, when there are over a thousand print brochures, the accuracy starts to falter. As a result, some brochures are cut beyond the set page borders. This is a nightmare especially if the brochure requested has patterns or images that need to be essentially shown on the sides of the brochure layout. Some printing solutions and measures have been done to avoid this. When you do the brochure layout, stretch or expand your brochure design slightly beyond the borders. This process is called the print bleed. It makes sure that the images are still intact even if the blade loses its accuracy.
