Several Tips to Protect Posters
The first thing that you have to do is to store your posters to be rolled up in the acid-free tubes. You can find these tubes in many home improvement stores or photography shops. The acid-free tubes are required for storing vintage posters in order to keep them from becoming discolored or fading. When rolling each poster, you need to put the print side on the inside. After that, you can secure it by using museum tape. The second alternative for protecting your posters is by using envelopes so that you can store them flat. For those who have a lot space of storage, it is better for them to store their poster collections this way rather than rolling up.
The third thing that you can do is to frame the poster. Make sure that the frame can protect your poster from the light. It is because the light is the known as the worst enemies of paper that can influence the original color and also the quality of your poster. Also, you have to make sure that the backing and the matting for the frame are made to be acid-free. If you choose regular matting, it will not work with your posters because it can create discoloration and also further damage to the image.
