I take a lot of concert pictures and the zoom is a must or you might as well not take a camera with you at all. On top of that, you can take a lot of pictures in the largest picture size without resorting to digital zoom. That means you can crop away much of the picture to frame just what you want without compromising the integrity and clarity of the picture.
